P. U. (Project Uplift) Program

Project Uplift is all about wrapping our arms around the homeless community. We conduct, at minimum, bi-weekly drives and perform street outreach to engage unsheltered people in places not meant for human habitation. Our outreach missions consist of the following activities:

·        Connect underserved people with emergency services, mental and physical health services, and permanent housing.

·        Assist with reintegrating unsheltered homeless individuals and families into the larger community.

·        Assist with removing barriers to housing

·        Assist with obtaining employment

·        Provide clothing, hygiene supplies, toiletries, and other necessities

·        Assist with completing applications for mainstream services (Food Stamps, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security benefits, etc.)

Project Uplift – McKinney Vento Extension

In Partnership with Cabarrus County Schools, The S.T.U.D.I.O. offers emergency services to students and their families identified as homeless or at risk of homelessness that meet the criteria for McKinney Vento status.

Common requests include hotel/motel, food, clothing, and utility assistance. However, we know that emergencies look different for each family we serve.

Contact the Social Worker at your child’s assigned school for consideration under this program. We look forward to assisting you!
